Silent Vipassana Meditation — 10 Days
Rishikesh, India10 daysMax 1004.8(890 reviews)
About this retreat
Ten days of silence sounds extreme. In practice, most people describe it as the most liberating thing they've ever done.
This traditional Vipassana course is offered entirely free of charge — your accommodation, food, and teaching are all covered by donations from past students. You arrive as a stranger. By day ten, you leave with a tool for the rest of your life.
There are no frills here. Just the practice. And that's exactly the point.

Ten days of silence is one of those things that sounds like it would be torture and turns out to be the best thing you've ever done. The technique is simple. The effects are profound. I've done it twice now and plan to go back annually.

I went in deeply stressed and came out quiet in a way I didn't think was possible for my brain. The meals are simple, the schedule is strict, and the whole thing is completely free — somehow that makes it feel more precious, not less.
