Your safety is not optional
We built JooySutra with safety as the foundation, not an afterthought. Here's exactly what we do to protect every person who uses this platform.
In an emergency, always contact local emergency services first.

How we keep you safe
Provider verification
Every provider listed on JooySutra passes a mandatory verification process: identity check, insurance verification, qualifications review and a direct call with our wellness team. We reject roughly 1 in 3 applications.
Safeguarding policy
All programmes involving vulnerable groups (mental health, trauma, eating disorders) require providers to demonstrate specific training and protocols. We work with the Global Wellness Institute on safeguarding standards.
Incident reporting
If something goes wrong during a programme, you can report it directly to us via the platform. Our safety team responds within 4 hours. Serious incidents are escalated to local authorities.
Review integrity
Reviews can only be left by people who have completed a booking through JooySutra. We remove fake reviews and investigate all disputes. Our AI flags anomalies in review patterns.
Safety FAQs
What should I do before attending a retreat?
Research the provider: read all their reviews, check their website and social media, and contact them directly with any questions. Tell someone you trust where you're going and when you'll be back. Purchase travel insurance that covers trip cancellation and medical evacuation. Check visa and entry requirements for your destination.
How do I know a programme is safe?
Look for providers with the JooySutra Verified badge, which indicates they have passed our full verification process. Read reviews — pay particular attention to comments about safety, staff conduct and emergency protocols. Programmes involving plant medicine, extreme physical activity or psychological work should have clear safety protocols listed in their description.
What if something goes wrong during my retreat?
Contact the provider immediately. If you feel unsafe, leave and contact local emergency services. Report the incident to us through the Help Centre — our safety team is available 24/7. If a provider has behaved dangerously or illegally, we will take immediate action including removing them from the platform.
Are plant medicine or psychedelic retreats safe?
Programmes involving plant medicine (e.g. ayahuasca, psilocybin) carry real risks, particularly for people with certain mental health conditions. We require all such providers to conduct medical and psychological pre-screening, provide detailed safety protocols and have trained integration support. If you are considering such a programme, read our dedicated guide in the blog.
What about travel insurance?
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance before attending any retreat, particularly for international travel. Your policy should include trip cancellation (in case you can't attend), medical coverage (in case you need treatment), and medical evacuation (in case you need to be repatriated). Check that your policy covers the specific activities included in your programme.
